Construction on Community Park Steaming Ahead

Naifaru Juvenile receives donations for the construction of our children’s park

Thanks to three donors, construction of the local children’s park is now well underway. We have already constructed the boundary wall and planted several trees as well as begun construction of a pavilion. Starting construction of the CYCC

Naifaru Juvenile has just signed a contract with a local construction contractor, Mr. Hassan Mohamed. The construction will begin immediately and we have agreed on a fifteen day period to complete roofing, plastering and the floor for one room. Career Guidance Sessions For Youth

Career guidance sessions at the local community school held by a Male’-based facilitator, Mr. Saneel Mohamed (Sannu), have just been concluded. Clean Up the World Event

The community came together to help clean up the island on Saturday the 15th of September for the annual Clean Up the World event. The event was carried out between two local NGOs, Naifaru Juvenile and Eco-Youth, divers from Prodivers at Kuredu resort and two divers from the MNDF. A lecture of reproducion and contraception is held for young women at the local community school, Madhrasathul Ifthitaah. The lecture was held by three medical students from the UK, Hajra, vaishali, and Sophia. UNFPA Reproductive Rights Mothers’ Workshop

The workshop was conducted over two nights (6th and 7th Sept.) and twelve local women participated. The women were mothers to children from two of our community’s preschools. The workshop was organized by Naifaru Juvenile and conducted by UNFPA instructor, Fathmath Waheedha. The workshop took place at the Lhaviyani Atoll Hospital conference room.
