An awareness session under SHE core+ initiative on “HIV” was conducted with an audience of 16 participants by Aminath Reema Mahfooz (Naifaru Juvenile Counsellor and Peer Educator at SHE core+).

In the session, the participants were made aware of what HIV and AIDS is. The ways of HIV transmission and high risk behaviour was discussed. The no-risk behaviour was also discussed.

The basic idea on HIV and AIDS was discussed for the detailed information to be dealt with in another session.

The second part of the session was on “Youth Problems” by Aminath Junaana which focused on major problems faced by youths.

The cause of the problems was discussed and ideas were given on how they can deal with those problems.

Throughout the session, games and activities were run giving a more detailed idea of the topic to the participants.

Their motivation and the co-operation showed the usefulness and admiration of the work we are doing. Their questions and the feedback they gave showed their interest in the sessions.
