A Ukraine Doctor has Arrived Naifaru

A Ukrainian volunteer doctor arrives at the Lhaviyani Atoll Hospital through Naifaru Juvenile and Mission Maldives. Dr. Lida Kotok will start work as a volunteer at the hospital on the 27th of March and will serve our community for a duration of three months. Juvenile launched new drug awareness campaign

Recreational zone created in Naifaru Resource Centre

Naifaru Juvenile establishes a recreational zone in the Naifaru Resource Centre. The recreational zone is going to give the island’s youth a chance to play games like ceram, TV-games, computer games as well as providing a hang out place for our island’s youth. Naifaru Local Market opened

Naifaru Juvenile establishes a local market with help from UNDP and SSGF to improve small business initiatives in Naifaru. The building was set up to the south of Naifaru harbour and holds a number of rooms suitable for small businesses. Wedding Dress designing Course arranged

Naifaru Juvenile finishes a one-month wedding dress sewing course for thirty local women with the help of TOPSY Training Centre, Male’. The course was held to encourage small business initiatives among the island’s women. The course took place at the Nooraanee Preschool in the evenings.

Training program completed for counsellor

Naifaru Juvenile sponsors a Youth counsellor in collaboration with the National Narcotics Control Bureau and the Society for Health Education. The aim is to give Naifaru Juvenile a better tool in our community’s fight against drug abuse and drug-related crime. Naifaru Juvenile finishes construction of our community’s new resource centre. The new building consists of a Naifaru Juvenile office, an indoor hall, a councelling cell, and a cyber café. Naifaru Juvenile launches a community rehabilitation programme. The programme focuses on counselling and awareness-building for drug users, school children and school leavers.
