We are one of our community’s oldest and most active NGOs and we work to create a stronger community through projects that involve or affect all the people of our island.
On Wednesday the 24th of October Naifaru Juvenile hosted a religious session on drug awareness. The session is a part of our commitment to the UNODC and EU sponsored programme Strengthening the National Response to Combat Drug Abuse in the Maldives.
The session was targeted at youths from the local community. 20 youths participated in the session. The facilitator of the programme was a local Shaik, Mr. Ali Shariff. The session focused on views on selfishness vs. altruism and drug use in Islam. The majority of the participants were boys. However, one girl also participated.
