An awareness session on cancer was run by Naifaru Juvenile under the SHE core plus initiative project in cooperation with the Society for Cancer on 10^th December 2013 at Lh. Kurendhoo and 11^th December 2013 at Lh. Naifaru targeting women of all ages.

The session was conducted by two facilitators from the Cancer Society.

The women were made aware of the different types of cancers, especially breast cancer and cervical cancer. The major causes of cancer were discussed and the signs and symptoms for each type of cancer were explained to the participants.

The tests available were discussed and the participants were made aware of the treatment for the disease.

The danger of the disease and extreme cases were discussed, and the importance of being aware and testing was highlighted during the session.
