An awareness session under SHE core+ initiative program on “Parenting Skills” was conducted with an audience of 15 participants by Aishath Nazeedha (Assistant Counsellor at Lh. FCSC)
In the session, the participants were made aware of the impacts of negative and positive upbringing or parenting. The ways of effective upbringing was discussed with life examples and the negative impact of divorce and separation was highlighted.
Throughout the session, games and activities were run giving a more detailed idea of the topic to the participants.
The need and usefulness of the session was discussed and the participants were informed of the health issues and the topic that would be covered during the session and a brief overview of the issues was given.
Parents got ideas and information on effective upbringing. Their questions and the feedback they gave showed their interest in sessions. They said that they are interested in participating in future sessions.
